Northam Army Camp Heritage Association Inc.

23,000 Displaced Persons called Northam Army Camp home between 1947 and 1953. Past residents or some of their descendents formed the Northam Army Camp Heritage Association Inc (NACHA) to protect, preserve and promote the stories from the Northam Army Camp. These stories include Military, POW’s and Displaced Persons who all have links with Northam.

The Act Belong Commit Northam Heritage and Multicultural Festival has developed through a partnership between NACHA, the Shire of Northam and Healthway. The Act Belong Commit program operated by Healthway focuses on Mental Health and Wellbeing. This can only be achieved if you know where you have come from and are able to celebrate that past.

The Shire of Northam Vision

“The Shire of Northam is a vibrant growing community that is safe, caring and inclusive. We are recognised as a community that values our heritage, preserves our environment and promotes our commerce.”

One Festival is not enough to share our stories. A five year strategic events plan was needed to help us. Information about each year can be found on the seperate pages. If you would join us and add to our stories you are welcome as a stall holder or a performer.
